Looking for a sad anime where main character has to fight his love interest?

yeah i just heard about kaito getting deleted and I'm in a very sad mood so I'm trying to find an old anime i watched but i cant remember what it was. some how the main character's love gets kidnapped and brainwashed to fight for the bad guys i think it ends with one or both of them dieing not sure been awhile.
