What would happen if the brown v board of edu. decision upheld the constitutionality of segregated schools?

Seeing as how this court case was a landmark decision in favor of desegregation and marked the start of the civil rights movement, how would history by changed if the Warren Court upheld the Plessy V. Ferguson decision and ruled in favor of the Topeka Board of Education? Would desegregation stall for years? Or would things still eventually come to fruition as other court cases upheld desegregation?
